The Latest Farmer's Market Update

The market managers now have permission from Tacoma Power to place Market signs and discount coupons at both the Mayfield Lake Park (old county park) and the Mossyrock Park. Bill Crepeau says, "We will coordinate that placement when we get in full swing. We have some nice extras too. Sandy's Pizza out of Toledo is going to have his mobile unit at the Market for much of the summer featuring made from scratch pizza, along with burgers and other good things to eat. His opening date will be in May. I've acquired an ice cream freezer that will allow us to serve several flavors of hand dipped ice cream and we are planning to offer baked on the site mini-cakes that will be served hot with ice cream and flavored toppings such as Butterscotch, Blackberry, Blueberry, Chocolate and more. It looks as if we will have at least three vendors of fresh fruits and farm produce. It will be a couple of weeks yet before we are in full swing as we are intentionally starting slow to get it right."
