MAAL Directors vote to support the Mossyrock Afterschool Program (MAP)
The Mossyrock After School Program is in need of funding. It will require funding for the '08-'09 school year. The Mossyrock Education Foundation has been established to be a funding source for the program. The Mossyrock Area Action League voted recently to donate $2000 to MAP to insure that it continues its important work in the community

September 15, 2008 at the Mossyrock School Board meeting, MAAL will present the Mossyrock Afterschool Program with a check for $2000.00. These funds came from a community effort to support the MAP's summer program. This year’s summer program offered free breakfast and lunch to all area children. The School Library was staffed and open all summer (Mossyrock does not have a local library). They offered an excellent Summer School program along with exciting field trips. These field trips expose children to opportunities that kids in low income situations may never experience. Prosperity in our area will not be achieved without addressing all the needs of our children and offering them opportunities for success. Many individuals along with the area Quilters, the Public Market (a MAAL program), the 2008 Car Show and the Blueberry Festival (a MAAL program) facilitated in making this donation possible.
