September 7, 2008. the Mossyrock Area Action League held a picnic at Ivy`s Riffe Lake Campground in Mossyrock to celebrate our successful Blueberry Festival and to thank all who sponsored and volunteered to help make it happen. About 40 people attended the celebration. We dined and talked and got to know each other better. Later in the evening there was even singing around the campfire.
A check for $2000 was presented to Katie Fitzhugh for the Mossyrock After School program. This was money earned through the festival, car show and a quilt raffle held by the "Granny Squares Quilters" who also sponsored the wonderful quilt show at the Blueberry Festival.
The group is looking forward to an even bigger festival next year with even more community involvement.
