WSU & HORIZONS UPDATES

WSU CHOOSES MOSSYROCK FOR VIDEO
WSU Horizons Program has selected Mossyrock to do a feature video on your project progress. Darrel Kilgore is a video producer with WSU Communications and Educational Support. He will be coming to Mossyrock on the afternoon of January 21st to speak with you about your projects (he has a copy of your preliminary Strategic Plan so he's somewhat familiar) that help make poverty structual changes. In particular they are interested in the Blueberry Festival, Language Exchange and new business activity with the Hispanic folks as well as any of your other projects that you feel are especially having an impact on the community's economic strength. His schedule is soon to follow.
Remember, if you have any comments please feel free to click on the Post title and leave your message.
WSU DECEMBER CONFERENCE Santa promised to grant Horizons Participants Terri Echterling (PeEll,WA) and Carlyn Jensen (Mossyrock,WA) all their wishes for Community Participation, Leadership Expansion and a for-profit business for each of their non-profit organizations. Even if Santa got snowed in at the North Pole and couldn't deliver, the time participants spent networking with other Horizon Communities was a windfall to all of us. Thank you Washington State University Extension Office for all the time, classes and beautiful campus you so generously offered.
Sunday, December 7, 2008 WSU Communications and Public Relations Seminar, December 2nd thru 4th I am Colby Jensen from Mossyrock. I am 14 and attended a Horizons Seminar at WSU's Spokane Campus with my mother. We had a lot of fun there. There was a lot of information that I hope to use in the future. We learned a lot in those three days and I recommend that if you are not involved with your community that you should really look into it. I think everything they do is great.-Colby Jensen
I am Robert Stevens I attended the Communications and Public Relations Seminar at the WSU campus on December 2-4 with Colby Jensen and his Mom, Carlyn . I had the opportunity to learn a great deal about many subjects . My favorite subject was blogging. It is an easy simple way to tell people in our community how Mossyrock is progressing and learning to help with poverty in our community. I learned a lot that I hope to use in our community. I strongly insist if you are not involved in your community, to get involved. Overall, I liked learning about most of the subjects, the speakers and coordinators had planned. This seminar was awesome and I plan to go to the next one .- Robert Stevens
