Christmas Trees, Trailblazers, and John

Christmas trees are a significant part of our commerce but are seldom viewed by the general public as a renewable resource. Recently one of our local tree farmers, John Markham was sought out by the media. It seems he moonlights as a Portland Trailblazer's ultra fan after putting in a full day on the farm and chairing our Mossyrock Elementary PTA. John and his wife, Amy devote a portion of their time every year to bring awareness and buyers to the tree farming businesses. Trees and berries are well suited to our climate and flourish in our moderate temperatures. An area television station asked to interview John about the Trailblazers. He jumped at the opportunity to talk about the Blazers and to tell the public that Christmas trees from southwest Washington are a renewable resource. Click here to watch his interview with Fox 12 in Portland, OR.
